Mythology hobbyist & history blogger
Self-taught, fifteen years of reading
Priya Anand works as a software engineer in Birmingham and has been reading Greek mythology seriously for the better part of fifteen years. She has no formal classics training: everything she knows came from books, library copies of academic journals, and a small army of patient academic friends who answer her emails.
She writes the goddess profiles and the comparison pieces on Old Greek Gods, with a soft spot for the figures who get the least attention in popular retellings: Hestia, Hecate, the lesser-known Muses, the women whose names survive only in fragments.
Priya is firmly an enthusiast, not an expert. She tries to be honest when sources disagree and to flag the difference between what Hesiod actually wrote and what Wikipedia has slowly turned it into.
